How to Apply

We know that applying for housing can feel frustrating and be a lengthy procedure. Waitlists can  be long, but please know that we will process your application fairly and treat you and your time with respect.

  1. Browse our properties at pshhc.org/rental-properties or view our featured vacancies at pshhc.org/vacancy.
  2. Click the red ‘Pre-Apply Online’ button to begin.  
  3. Select ‘Click Here to Register’ under the username and password boxes. Please do this even if you have an existing account for another property. 
  4. Select ‘I do NOT have a registration code 
  5. Enter your name, social security number, phone number, and email.
    • If you previously applied, a separate window will open. Choose ‘Using Existing Account
  6. It will ask for a password. Use your existing password if you are a returning user or create a new one. 
  7. More questions will appear, asking for various details for the application. Please complete all the necessary fields. 
  8. After submitting your information, you will be added to the waitlist and our leasing team will contact you when a vacancy arises to confirm your eligibility.

  2. Click the red ‘Download Pre-Application’ button to get a PDF version. 
  3. Complete all the information on the pre-application. 
  4. Send the application:
    • By email – to the address listed on the pre-application
    • By mail –  to the address listed on the pre-application
    • In-person – to the address listed on the pre-application, during business hours Monday through Friday
    • By fax – to the number listed on the pre-application
  5. Within 2-3 weeks, you will receive a confirmation that the application has been received.
  6. You will be added to the waitlist and our leasing team will contact you when a vacancy arises to confirm your eligibility.
  • At least once a year, you will receive a notice from each property asking if you want to remain on the waitlist. If you don’t respond, you will be removed from the waitlist. For this reason, it is crucial to contact us if your address or phone number changes. Please contact leasing@pshhc.org with any updates to your contact information.
  • When a vacancy arises, you will be invited for an interview and may be asked to bring: 
    • Income information (paystubs, social security award letters, disability payments, etc…)
    • Photo ID
    • Tax returns
    • Student verification
  • Waittists can take a long time, so you may want to apply to multiple properties. Stay patient. Although not always quickly, units do become available. When your name comes up, we look forward to welcoming you home! 
  • If you are working with a social worker or case manager, it’s a good idea to include their contact information and give us written permission to communicate with them. 
  • Depending on the property, different federal agencies regulate the process. This is why there are different application, income, and rent requirements by site.  
  • If you contact a property directly, you can expect to receive a response by the end of the business week. If you have not heard after 5 business days, please contact communications@pshhc.org.
