For farmworkers and households earning 30-60% of the Area Median Income

The first PSHH property in the City of Santa Paula, People’s Place is comprised of 69 affordable units with one, two, and three-bedroom floorplans. All units are equipped with a refrigerator, stove, dishwasher, window coverings, and vinyl flooring. There are mobility and sensory accessible units available. Buildings are two to three stories tall with interior courtyards, uncovered parking, and laundry facilities on each level. Please note that there are no elevators and this is a non-smoking property.

Residents pay their own electricity, water, and sewer, while PSHH covers garbage collection. A utility allowance is provided to help offset some costs. Security deposits are required, but if this would incur a financial hardship, alternatives are available.

People’s Place is primarily state-funded, so applicants are not required to provide evidence of U.S. citizenship status. You must make at least 50% of their income from agricultural employment to be eligible for a farmworker unit and documentation verifying proof of employment will be required. Retired farmworkers are also eligible!

Onsite amenities include a community building and kitchen for resident events, a multipurpose room, outdoor courtyards, BBQs, and playgrounds. All residents will have access to free, confidential supportive services. People’s Place also has a learning center, where afterschool education programs are provided for free.
