Tara

Tara, a Santa Barbara resident, came to People’s in 2022 after living at an emergency shelter. Through fierce advocacy, and with the help of her onsite social worker, she received a Section 8 voucher to apply for an apartment of her very own!

After beginning her search, the second place Tara applied to accepted her application! Over the moon to begin this next chapter of her journey, Tara shared: “I really want to thank my social worker at People’s Self-Help Housing. He is a rockstar! He guided me through the whole process and I’m grateful for his support.”

While living with PSHH, Tara was one of 1,200+ residents who received comprehensive supportive housing services from an onsite social worker.
