Shelly Higginbotham

Shelly, former three-term Mayor of the City of Pismo Beach, is retired and serves as the Board Chair for PSHH. She has been associated with the League of California Cities, League of Women Voters, the 5 Cities Homeless Coalition, the Child Development Resource Center, the Children’s Resource Network, and the Women’s Legacy Fund through the San Luis Obispo Community Foundation. In 2017, Shelly’s service was recognized with the Women of Distinction award for volunteerism.

Shelly holds a Bachelor of Science in Child Development and a master’s degree in psychology, which informs her passion for supporting affordable housing and children’s services. She has served as Chair/Vice Chair, President/Vice President, and Interim Executive Director for a number of organizations. Bringing vast experience to the organization, Shelly lives with her husband in Pismo Beach.
