Rob Pearson


Rob Pearson served as the ED/CEO of the Santa Barbara City Housing Authority from 1988 until his retirement in December 2016, and as Deputy ED between February 1981 and February 1988. He held various positions with the City of Santa Barbara from 1976 to 1981, the last position as Housing and Redevelopment Manager. Rob holds an undergraduate degree in Political Science and Public Administration from UCSB, and completed his graduate study in the field of Environmental Planning at Cal State Northridge. He has been active with numerous civic organizations and on several Ca nonprofits including the former Goleta Valley Hospital, Casa Esperanza Homeless Center, Sarah House, San Felipe Supportive Housing for the disabled, the Public Housing Authorities Directors’ Association, Garden Court, the Coastal Housing Partnership and the Housing Trust Fund for SB County.  He received numerous affordable housing industry awards, including the prestigious M. Justin Herman Life Time Achievement Award from the National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials as well as the Community Housing Assistance Award from the American Institute of Architects. He was elected to the Board in October 2018 and resides in Santa Barbara.
