Peoples’ Self-Help Housing recently announced the opening of a new office in Ventura that it said will help the organization better serve the housing needs of the community.
The new office is at 474 E. Santa Clara St. and will mainly be used to host meetings and community groups tasked with presenting and enacting solutions to housing issues in Ventura County, according to an email from the organization’s communications department. It will also help the PSHH expand its affordable rental housing and home ownership programs.
PSHH, which recently closed escrow on its latest project in Fillmore, builds housing and offers site-based services. It mainly serves low-income working families, veterans and seniors.
It offers homeownership opportunities through an owner-builder “sweat equity” that has facilitated the construction of nearly 1,200 homes, according to PSHH. The organization also manages more than 1,800 rental units. It is the largest nonprofit affordable housing developer on the Central Coast.
