to a Groundbreaking Celebration of the

A light lunch will be served outdoors following remarks, partner recognition, and the groundbreaking ceremony.

The new affordable housing project is comprised of 36 apartments: 4 one-, 18 two-, and 14 three-bedroom units. Additional amenities include a community room with kitchen and meeting space, laundry facilities, and playground. Future households will qualify for residency with income ranges of 30-60% Area Medium Income (AMI). Eligibility requirements also include good credit and rental history. The development is scheduled for completion in the summer 2014.

The nonprofit sponsor and developer of the project is Peoples’ Self-Help Housing under the direction of President/CEO Jeanette Duncan. The construction team includes Senior Construction Director Bill Loar, Construction Supervisor Joe Mangiardi, as well as CSA Architects of Santa Barbara and engineer Devin Newton of San Luis Obispo.

Financing is provided by Bank of America, California Tax Credit Allocation Committee, City of Arroyo Grande, County of San Luis Obispo HOME Funds, Housing Authority of the City of San Luis Obispo, Merritt Community Capital Corporation, and San Luis Obispo County Housing Trust Fund.

PSHH is a non-profit organization whose mission is to provide affordable housing and programs leading to self-sufficiency for low-income families, seniors, and other special needs groups on California’s Central Coast. Since its establishment in 1970, PSHH has created nearly 1,200 self-help homeownership opportunities and has built more than 1,400 affordable rental units in San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, and Ventura counties.
