Peoples’ Self-Help Housing Celebrates the Completion of 33-unit Dahlia Court Affordable Apartments on Friday August 16 at 11 a.m.

Peoples’ Self-Help Housing will celebrate the Grand Opening of the Dahlia Court 2 Apartments in Carpinteria on Friday, August 16, 2013 at 11 a.m.

The ribbon-cutting event is open to the public and celebrates the completion of the 33-unit addition to Dahlia Court 1 located at 1300 Dahlia Court. The ceremony will recognize donors and financing partners of the affordable housing project. A light lunch and tours will follow. Financing partners will be recognized including the California Community Reinvestment Corporation, Calif. Tax Credit Allocation Committee, City of Carpinteria, County of Santa Barbara, Housing Authority of the County of Santa Barbara, Federal Home Loan Bank of San Francisco, Merritt Community Capital Corporation, Rabobank, and Montecito Bank & Trust.

Donors will also be recognized including All Saints by-the-Sea Episcopal Church, City of Carpinteria, Ted and Julie Chandler, Looker Foundation, Outhwaite Family Foundation, Michael & Jennifer Payne, Santa Barbara Foundation, Weingart Foundation, and James Wheeler.

The new buildings are comprised of 14 three-bedroom and 19 two-bedroom apartments and also include a large multi-use community room, youth learning center, offices, laundry facilities, and clinic rooms.

Also acknowledged were the project architects: CSA Architects and The Peikert Group Architects, Landscape Architect Rob Fowler, Landscape Installation by Plowboy Landscape, Doug Wasson, Penfield & Smith Civil Engineers, Interior Designer Adele Rosen, and visual artist: Dorothy Churchill-Johnson. PSHH President/CEO also recognized staff who worked on the project for nearly 18 months: Senior Construction Director Bill Loar, Construction Supervisor Jim Hurst, Construction Manager Rusti Troyna Jr., Portfolio Manager Carlos Jimenez, Property Manager Olivia Moctezuma, and many others.
