Bill Loar Appointed Assistant Construction Director
at Peoples' Self-Help Housing

Bill Loar has joined Peoples’ Self-Help Housing as Assistant Construction Director, it was announced by Executive Director Jeanette Duncan.

In this position Loar will be involved in construction of Peoples’ self-help and rental properties in the tri-counties.

Loar operated his own business as licensed general building contractor since 1976. His company completed many single-family and multi-family residential projects on the Central Coast. Loar attended Cal Poly University in Pomona and served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam. He and his wife Brenda live in Paso Robles and enjoy hiking and fishing.

Founded in San Luis Obispo in 1970, Peoples’ Self-Help Housing has developed 1,150 self-help home ownership residences and over 1,350 affordable rental units in San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, and Ventura counties. For 40 years, the non-profit organization has not only developed affordable housing in over 30 cities and communities but has also provided community facilities, supportive social services, financial education, and youth after-school education--programs that foster greater self-sufficiency for low-income households, seniors, the formerly homeless, and special needs households.
