Wells Fargo Promotes the Work of
Peoples' Self-Help Housing in Eight Locations

San Luis Obispo, CA, August 21, 2006—Peoples’ Self Help Housing (PSHH), a nonprofit affordable housing organization, announced that Wells Fargo is running a fundraising drive/promotion in eight of their stores for PSHH, August through September. In-store materials and recognition cards, for those who make donations, will be displayed in each store as well.

Wells Fargo Housing Foundation’s Focus on Communities Program also recently launched a one-for-one “Challenge Grant” of up to $50,000 for PSHH. The “Challenge Grant” is made through the Focus on Communities program, which develops affordable home ownership opportunities. The Wells Fargo Housing Foundation designed the Focus on Communities program to help local housing organizations. In turn, this reduces an organization’s dependency on the decreasing pool of government funds.

“We will continue to support the work of Peoples’ Self-Help Housing. Our team members also feel personally connected to the work through their volunteerism and the efforts that each store makes to help raise money for this worthy organization. This challenge grant is another way to get the business community involved in making affordable housing available,” said Erica Huntzinger, Market President for Santa Maria.

“We also hope that providing information in our stores about the important work of Peoples’ Self-Help Housing will lead to further support from the community; now, and in the future,” said Huntzinger.

“Wells Fargo and the Wells Fargo Foundation have consistently and actively supported affordable housing on the Central Coast and the work of Peoples’ Self-Help Housing. We are deeply appreciative of their commitment and generosity in conducting this in-store promotional campaign,” said Jeanette Duncan, Peoples’ Self-Help Housing Executive Director.
