Holiday Giving for Local Children Made Easy with 'Stuff the Bus Campaign for Peoples' Kids'

Peoples' Self-Help Housing partners with Community West Bank, MTD, Payless ShoeSource, Starbucks Coffee Company, & the SB Police Department to Collect Gifts for Low-Income Kids

Santa Barbara, CA, November 8, 2006-Peoples' Self-Help Housing (PSHH) is pleased to announce the 2006 "Stuff the Bus Campaign for Peoples' Kids." This campaign benefits the hundreds of children residing at Peoples' Self-Help Housing affordable rental apartments in the Santa Barbara and Goleta areas. From November 6 -December 20 individuals, organizations, and corporations are invited to drop off new, unwrapped toys, purchase gift cards for shoes at Payless ShoeSource, or make financial donations that will be turned into gift cards.

This year, PSHH is partnering up with a powerhouse of companies to bring toys, shoes and gift cards to PSHH residents. Community partners include the Santa Barbara Police Department, Santa Barbara Metropolitan Transit District and Community West Bank, Starbucks Coffee Company, and Payless ShoeSource.

"We often get so caught up in the bustle and excitement of the holidays that we forget how many people are not able to afford even the smallest of gifts for their children," said Jeanette Duncan, Executive Director of Peoples' Self-Help Housing. "We at Peoples' Self-Help Housing are so grateful and honored to partner with community leaders who have recognized the reality of the holidays for many Santa Barbara residents-especially kids-and are actively working to make this year's holiday season a brighter one," said Duncan.
