Peoples' Self-Help Housing Families Receive 7 Ton Shipment Of Holiday Gifts From International Relief Organization Feed The Children

Hundreds of Children in Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo Counties Benefit from Donation

Santa Barbara County, Dec. 12, 2005— Feed the Children, the international humanitarian organization, is donating 12 pallets of holiday gifts, household and hygiene supplies for families living at Peoples' Self-Help Housing developments in Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo Counties this Wednesday.

Over 13,000 pounds (nearly 7 tons) of donated goods will be delivered to Los Adobes de Maria II, a farmworker rental complex in Santa Maria, where they will be sorted and then distributed to PSHH's Learning Centers and to tenants at their multi-family rental housing developments along the central coast.

The shipment includes toys for the children including video games provided by EA Sports, beauty supplies donated by Avon, and Clorox cleaning supplies. Books, snacks, and various school supplies will also be included in the shipment.

"These toys and supplies will lighten the financial burden for our families, especially during the holidays."

Peoples' Self-Help Housing volunteers and staff will spend several hours coordinating delivery and storage of the toys and supplies to their rental housing developments.
