Taste of Hope
Saturday, July 26th

The agricultural bounty of California's Central Coast is being shared with PSHH on Saturday, July 26, from 2-5 p.m. at the wine tasting rooms of Michael Grace and McKeon-Phillips, 2115 S. Blosser Road in Santa Maria.

PSHH supporters and the public are invited to an outoor/indoor wine tasting and catered luncheon to support affordable housing efforts on the Central Coast. "As a retired contractor, I am very aware of the need for affordable housing for working households in our area. I brought this idea forward to PSHH and am happy that we can partner on this event," said Michael McIntosh, co-owner of Michael Grace.

50% of case sales and proceeds from the silent auction will support PSHH. Tickets are $25 if purchased before the event, $30 at the door.

Call (805) 781-3088 x457 to purchase tickets or to donate silent auction items.

Michael Grace Winery will release new Sauvignon Blanc, Rose and Viognier! Only 25 cases are available of each.

PSHH Expands Foreclosure Prevention Program

In response to the crisis in the real estate and financial markets, Peoples' Self-Help Housing is expanding its foreclosure prevention, mitigation counseling, as well as homebuyer education classes. PSHH has offered home ownership education since 1972. The current program is funded by the California Home Ownership Preservation Initiative through the California Community Foundation, local governments, and financial institutions. Brian Kerrigan, who recently joined PSHH as Housing Counselor and Loan Officer, is presenting an expanded schedule of foreclosure prevention and first-time homebuyer education workshop. The sessions are being held at PSHH properties in San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara counties. Log on to www.pshhc.org for the schedule.

A graduate of the University of Massachusetts-Amherst, Kerrigan holds a degree in business administration/finance and most recently worked as a loan officer for Chase Bank. Kerrigan is multi-lingual and is fluent in Spanish.

Friendship Blanket Program helps PSHH

Friendship BlanketsIt is now a little bit easier to help new residents at Peoples' Self-Help Housing. Our new residents and the homeless are always in need of blankets. Purchase a dozen (from $83 to $152/dozen) and ship directly to PSHH. Know that you will be supplying a very basic need for a disadvantaged person.

The warm, woolen blankets are also flame retardant, an excellent safety feature. To make your charitable donation of blankets to PSHH log on to www.northwestwoolen.com/friendship.htm
