Peoples' Self-Help Housing Dedicates "Canyon Creek Apartments"
in Paso Robles
Paso Robles, CA, December 15, 2006—This holiday season, families in Paso Robles have good reason to celebrate. On December 18, a special dedication ceremony will take place at 400 Oak Hill Road to introduce "Canyon Creek Apartments" to the community.
Built and owned by the nonprofit Peoples' Self-Help Housing, the 68 new permanently affordable 'California Contemporary' style apartments in Paso Robles are made up of 2 and 3-bedroom units. The complex is home to a Community Building and Learning Center , with a health screening and counseling room, recreational space and several playgrounds.
Apartments will be rented to households whose incomes do not exceed 50% of the Area Median Income (AMI). A family of 4 will be able to qualify, so long as their income does not exceed $30,850 per year.
Other PSHH developments in the city of Paso Robles include Creekside Gardens, and Los Robles Terrace, which are permanently affordable rental communities for seniors. Peoples' Self-Help Housing owned and managed developments in northern San Luis Obispo County include Oceanside Gardens, Pacific View, Sequoia Apartments and Ocean View Manor in Morro Bay, Schoolhouse Lane Apartments in Cambria and Templeton Place in Templeton.
Canyon Creek development partners in this project include Triad Architectural & Planning Association, North Coast Engineering, Inc. and landscape architect Robert Boro. Financing partners include the City of Paso Robles, City of Paso Robles Redevelopment Agency, and the County of San Luis Obispo HOME program, Rural Community Assistance Corporation, State Dept. of Housing & Community Development, Joe Serna Jr. Farmworker Grant, Federal Home Loan Bank (AHP), Alliant Capital Tax Credits, USDA Rural Development and Washington Mutual.
Heritage Oaks Bank is sponsoring the Canyon Creek Learning Center and Mission Community Bank is sponsoring the Community Center.
