California Association of Nonprofits Announces Best California Non-Profits
Peoples' Self-Help Housing Wins Mission Impact Award
Santa Barbara, CA, Nov. 16, 2002The California Association of Nonprofits announces today that Peoples' Self-Help Housing has won California's Mission Impact Award. The three top Awards will be handed out today at the Wilshire Grand in Los Angeles. The three categories are: the Mission Impact Award; the Excellence in Leadership Award; and the Achievement in Innovation Award.
Peoples Self-Help Housing is the winner in the Mission Impact Award category. This award honors the most outstanding organization in California that has made a significant contribution to a more civil society.
Peoples' Self-Help Housing (PSHH) is an award winning non-profit organization with over 30 years of experience developing housing for low-income and special needs households on California's Central Coast (Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, and Ventura Counties). PSHH also provides assistance in the design and implementation of community development programs for numerous cities, counties and community groups.
The California Association of Nonprofits (CAN), a statewide membership organization of over 1,740 diverse nonprofits, is dedicated to protecting, strengthening, and promoting nonprofit organizations in our state. CAN's mission is to promote, strengthen and advance the influence, professionalism accountability and effectiveness of nonprofit organizations in a manner that builds their capacity to accomplish their missions and preserves the idealism and value of nonprofit organizations in California. CAN also serves as a meeting ground, educational and technical assistance resource, network facilitator, information provider, cost savings negotiator, and advocate for California's nonprofit organizations.
