Peoples' Self-Help Housing Gets "New Year" Financial Commitment from Wells Fargo

January 4, 2002On Tuesday, January 8, Wells Fargo will present the first installment of a substantial "2002 commitment" to provide housing for those most in need on California's Central Coast, through Peoples' Self-Help Housing.
Peoples' Self-Help Housing, a local non-profit, provides affordable housing for low-income families, seniors, and those with special needs. The 32 year-old organization provides rental housing and assists in the construction and financing for home ownership in Santa Barbara, Ventura, and San Luis Obispo counties.
Erica Huntzinger, Central Coast Manager of Wells Fargo Bank will be presenting the check and will speak about the Wells Fargo's commitment to affordable housing. "Wells Fargo is a strong supporter of the important work of Peoples' Self-Help Housing and has been directly involved in pre-development loans, construction loans for self-help housing and rentals, as well as permanent financing for some of the PSHH rental sites," said Huntzinger.
Wells Fargo has also consistently provided annual grant money for general PSHH support, which has helped PSHH with pre-development costs for affordable housing as well as implementation and support of ongoing resident services, such as child-care, education programs, and job training.
Peoples' Self-Help Housing (PSHH) is a national award winning non-profit organization with over 30 years of experience developing affordable housing and community facilities for low-income and special needs households. PSHH also provides technical assistance in the design and implementation of community development programs for numerous cities, counties and community groups.
