GRAND OPENING OF NEW AFFORDABLE HOUSING
ON A GRAND DAY IN AVILA BEACH!

GRAND OPENING OF NEW AFFORDABLE HOUSING
Ribbon Cutting Ceremony, Friday, March 27, 2009

We could not have asked for a nicer day to celebrate the Grand Opening at Lachen Tara last week. Under blue skies and with a pleasant ocean breeze we welcomed a crowd of about 100, including local officials, community members, funding partners, development partners, event sponsors and representatives of PSHH and The Duncan Group.

PSHH Deputy Director Scott Smith and Board member Charles Fruit welcomed the guests. Pastor Jim Blades from the First Presbyterian Church of SLO gave the invocation, followed by remarks from former SLO County Supervisor Peg Pinard, current SLO County Supervisor Adam Hill, Betsy Umhofer from the office of Congresswoman Lois Capps.

The official part closed with a ribbon cutting and photo opportunity, after which guest were able to tour three of the apartments and socialize while enjoying lunch provided by event sponsors and partners CA Dept. of Housing and Community Development, Carroll Construction, Coast National Bank, County of San Luis Obispo, Main Street Architects, North Coast Engineering and Wells Fargo Bank.

It was a wonderful event, with new friends and supporters made during a celebration on a bright sunny day in Avila Beach.

Opening Doors.  Building Neighborhoods.  Improving Lives.
