2005 marked the 35th Anniversary of Peoples' Self-Help Housing, the first and largest non-profit organization providing affordable housing and programs leading to self sufficiency for low-income families, seniors, and other speical-needs groups on California's Central Coast.

Peoples' Self-Help Housing programs include: Self-Help Home Ownership, Rental Housing, and Health and Community Services. We have helped over 1000 families build their first home and we own and manage 1200 affordable rental units, serving 5000 residents annually. Through our Health and Community Services division, we provide comprehensive health, social services, educational programs, emergency medical assistance, scholarships, and other financial aid to residents.

The Education Enhancement Program (EEP) is a unique program that we operate at Learning Centers at 5 of our rental housing sites, and will be included in future developments. Working closely with local school districts, our bilingual bicultural educators work with Kindergarten through 12th graders year round to increase their academic performance and grade point averages, and to serve as a bridge between the students, parents, and their school teachers.

• $ 2,500 - Provides 2 Annual Student Scholarships for EEP and Classroom Materials
• $ 5,000 - Provides 5 Annual Student Scholarships for EEP
• $10,000 - Provides 10 Annual Student Scholarships for EEP
• $25,000 - Provides 20 Annual Student Scholarships for EEP and Classroom Materials

Donations of $35,000 and above qualify for Naming Opportunities.

Contributors to the 35th Anniversary Campaign will be recognized at the 35th Anniversary Reception, scheduled for Spring 2006. Names of donors will also be acknowledged on a permanent 35th Anniversary Commorative Plaque.

With the most recent audited financial statements indicating that 85% of Peoples' funds are allocated to our Programs, donors may be assured that their contributions are managed prudently.
